Frequently asked questions

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions…

  • Classes are usually between 10-15 people.

  • Basically, we place a mat on the floor, arrange blankets and cushions for comfort and we have a darn good lie-down…to begin with, anyway.

Thereon in, we begin to limber up and get the spine, hips, arms and legs moving, which gets muscles and joints activated and your internal organs gently stimulated. Yoga has the potential to slowly ease away stiffness, stagnation and feelings of being stuck; physically and mentally.

We spend some time doing things you may find easy (breath awareness or neck tension releases) and things you may find hard (the occasional press up or deep lunge). But all moves can be changed and modified to suit you.

  • You can choose to come on a drop-in basis or book your place in advance to suit you.

  • The age group ranges from about 35 to 80; the classes are informal and friendly and we never take ourselves too seriously.

  • Possibly yes, but don’t let that put you off. The statistics are about 1:9 male to female.

  • Just yourself! If you have a mat or any of your own equipment, then feel free to bring it, but everything you’ll need we’ll provide.

  • No, I provide everything you’ll need, although it is good to bring your own things if you have them already. Just wear comfortable, stretchy clothing.

  • Anything you like! As long as it’s comfortable and stretchy. Layers are often a good idea too, so that they can be removed as you become warmer. Yoga is done barefoot, so arrive whatever shoes you like.

  • My morning classes are all suitable for beginners; if you have mobility issues and find it difficult to get up and down from the floor, you may find that a chair yoga class is more advisable.

  • Whatever you get from practicing yoga is personal to you; it might energise you if you’re sluggish or feeling flat, it might calm you down if you’re a little frantic or het up.

And you won’t really know what yoga will do for you until you try it; come to a class which is friendly, laid back and informal and see what you think for yourself.

  • Of course I welcome a phone call, email or message.
